Puppet Show

Not only was the delivery of bunk beds an exciting time here in Kerper land - almost equally as cool was the arrival of the mattresses.  Because they came in a really. big. box.  And boxes are fun for little kids.

The boys asked me to turn it into a puppet show theater - or "Pubd show" as phonetically spelled by our master decorator Cole.

Cole worked dilligently on his puppet - a groundhog named "Groundhog."  The kid's got talent and originality.  Nice.

From there they fought over who would put on the show and who would watch, the puppet's real name (Cole insisted it was "Groundhog" but Ry wasn't buying it), whether the audience (me) should clap before or after the performance, etc. etc. 

So here's all of my hard work (I even gave it a door with a knob) quarantined in the kitchen because I couldn't stand to hear anymore fighting.

Family bonding at its finest. 



Banzai

Ry's school had an after school Tae Kwon Do program and they held a little graduation ceremony this weekend. Our young master was not the most graceful of the bunch, but I'd still say he held his own (he's in the front with the bright blue shirt).

Ironically, Phil and I just watched The Karate Kid the other night. Different martial art, I know, but it still put me in the mood.

Here he breaks a board with the fiery passion of Danielson (okay so maybe it's not that fiery but at least it broke!!)

I wonder if I can pull a Mr. Miyagi and get him to paint the house and clean the car? Wax on, wax off young Ryanson.

Getting From Point A To Point B

Cole entertained himself at Ryan's soccer practice by running down a hill. This brought him such joy that he did it again...and again...and again.

Most people would start at the top and go straight to the bottom. He chose to run...roll...roll sideways...roll back up...run...

He may not take the conventional approach, but he does it all with gusto. May he never run right down the hill.
