Puppet Show

Not only was the delivery of bunk beds an exciting time here in Kerper land - almost equally as cool was the arrival of the mattresses.  Because they came in a really. big. box.  And boxes are fun for little kids.

The boys asked me to turn it into a puppet show theater - or "Pubd show" as phonetically spelled by our master decorator Cole.

Cole worked dilligently on his puppet - a groundhog named "Groundhog."  The kid's got talent and originality.  Nice.

From there they fought over who would put on the show and who would watch, the puppet's real name (Cole insisted it was "Groundhog" but Ry wasn't buying it), whether the audience (me) should clap before or after the performance, etc. etc. 

So here's all of my hard work (I even gave it a door with a knob) quarantined in the kitchen because I couldn't stand to hear anymore fighting.

Family bonding at its finest. 



Daddy Day Gone Wild

We all have our own approaches to parenting. Some go with the "Let them use their imaginations and explore the world" approach.


Others choose the "Foster their creativity by any means possible" approach.


Then there's those who choose the "Let your 1 year old run around in a room filled with paint, then photograph him lying on the floor wearing 2 different shoes, and finally take off half his clothes in a public museum so he can splash in the water" approach.




Luckily for our boys, Phil chooses all three of the above. I don't think there's any right or wrong way to do this parenting thing - but I do know that some fun along the way should definitely be part of the equation.

Cha Cha Van Gogh

I received this note from Charlie's teacher at daycare:

We got the best picture of Charlie painting today. He turned to face the camera, put out his hands (covered in paint), and said cheese. It's such a joyous, messy moment caught on film. It's great!!!

He also has a sweet way about him to get paint on his teachers. He comes up to us so innocently like he wants us to help him or he needs to show us something, and before we know it - bam - we're covered in paint. This kid is too funny! And very sweet.

Sounds just like a certain older brother that I know. These boys can charm the pants off anyone. Or in this case, charm the paint onto anyone.
