Hockey & Wine

Ryan and Cole asked to try out floor hockey this season. Things we've learned:

1. Setting ground rules for boys and hockey sticks is always a good thing
2. Cole would rather slide on the floor with his pads than actually play floor hockey
3. An empty racquetball court is the best place to kill time with 2 toddlers while waiting for their older brother's games to finish

And the best lesson of all that was a total "duh" when I learned it: When giving water to a kid wearing a hockey mask, use a straw

After their final game, we went to a party at our friends house during a freak October snow storm. There was lots of food and lots of wine, which led to lots of laughs and a quick stumble home to snuggle with the family.

Looks like it's going to be a long winter...good thing we live near a discount liquor store. Cheers!

Swingers

When we go to a park, we take over. Literally.

The other day we filled up the swing set with Kerpers. Phil introduced them to the concept of the Underdog - I'm still trying to convince myself that it's not possible for them to flip over the top bar.

Our toothless wonder is the happiest he can be when he's in a swing. On a separate note - that top tooth is finally popping through, so hopefully he'll soon stop looking like he was in a hockey fight.

Here's our Turkey Bird soaking in the love. Just a little pick-me-up for this gloomy Tuesday.

We Now Bleed Orange And Black

Our good friend Trish has had Flyers season tickets for the last gazillion years, and she shared the wealth for last week's pre-season games. Ry and Cole both got to have their own night out with Dad, thus giving Trish extra time at home to raise chinchillas in her living room. True story.

First up was Cole to watch the Flyers beat the Islanders. Despite the exciting open to the game with lights...announcing the players...national anthem...etc...his favorite part was getting a soft pretzel in the shape of the Flyers symbol.

Next up was Ry to watch another winning game against Buffalo. Traffic kept them from the extravaganza at the start of the game, but the foam finger purchase totally made up for it.

Thanks for the memories Trish. Let's go Flyers!
