The 'stache is gone!!!!!!! Thank you to everyone who supported me during this tough time in my life.
So now that it's all over, I was able to sit and talk with him about the origins of the face catepillar. Here was Phil's slightly mental rationale for the start and end of it all:
Once it was grown, the Phillies won the first game in the World Series. He became convinced that the reason for this win was the moustache, and thusly decided the best thing for the team was to keep it.
After the dissapointing loss last night, he realized that the stache wasn't helping anyone and it was shaved off today.
He now feels that his lack of facial hair will help, and that the Phillies will get back on track and take the rest of the Series.
